Digital Dental Leaders, a digital dental lab in Menifee, California

About the company

Digital Dental Leaders (DDL) is a digital-only dental lab in Menifee, in Riverside County, Southern California: an all-digital workflow is all they do, and they work with doctors and practices across the country. Eric co-founded DDL in 2015 and has been its CEO and lead technician since 2016, working with a team of about 50. DDL makes only full-contour, model-free restorations, which removes steps where errors can creep in, and it publishes clear case workflows for the practices it serves. True-Fit and DDL share the same standard: True-Fit is scanning you can trust, and DDL is restorations you can trust.

How it connects to your training

DDL’s digital case workflows line up with the prep and scan habits Eric teaches your team, so a practice that sends to DDL works from the same playbook. Cases are sent straight from your scanner software once DDL is added to your scanner; DDL’s connect your scanner and how to send a case pages walk your team through it.

What DDL makes

You’re welcome to send your cases to any lab; your scanner, training and support are the same either way.

Disclosure: Eric co-owns (50%) Digital Dental Leaders. *New DDL account = no DDL billing in the prior 12 months. Credit applied to DDL statements; not redeemable for cash. Terms subject to confirmation. Lab services are summarized from digitaldentalleaders.com as of October 2026.

Implant company

TruAbutment

About the company

TruAbutment is an implant-component manufacturer headquartered in Irvine, California, where it houses its milling operations and software development. It mills CAD/CAM titanium abutments “head-to-toe” on Swiss-type CNC turning machines rather than relying on third parties to pre-mill the interfaces, and it also makes TruScan Body scan bodies and the ioConnect™ system for full-arch scanning.

Digital workflows and support

TruAbutment builds tools for digital workflows, from guided surgery to photogrammetry for CAD/CAM restorations, and its proprietary split-file technology is designed for a precise fit. It describes its Irvine facility as a place where innovation meets education.

How Eric works with TruAbutment

Eric works with TruAbutment for custom implant abutments and scan bodies. Their quality and design flexibility helped him perfect digital, model-free implant abutment and crown design, and he has used them successfully for 10 years.

What Eric counts on

  • Design flexibility with their 3Shape design libraries (DME)
  • ASC (angulated screw channel) options
  • Abutment quality and finish, cost and delivery time
  • Swiss-milled abutments and scan bodies; a TruAbutment scan body kit is part of Eric’s training kit
  • ioConnect™ for All-on-X scanning, built to help an existing intraoral scanner capture multi-unit positions

The TruAbutment name and logo, TruScan, TruBase and ioConnect are trademarks of TruAbutment Inc.; 3Shape is a trademark of its owner. Company and product details are summarized from truabutment.com (About Us and product pages) as of October 2026 and may change; opinions are Eric True’s own.
